After their joint venture “SWEET PEACE”, that turned out to be the No. 1 charted track on the 5 Years Hive Compilation, our two up and coming HIVE AUDIO artists now split their powers for a smashing maxi single.

One track each by BENJA and RETO ARDOUR that, of course, make a perfect match as every project those two Swiss young guns work on. BENJA’s “RAW SMOKE” is a reduced groove tool that convinces with a flippy bassline, raw chords and razor sharp Hi-Hats. “BONFIRE” by RETO ARDOUR comes around the corner with a smacking House groove, playful chords and spooky vocal effects.

The remixes are delivered by MATTHIAS MEYER and CHRIS WOOD, each goldplating this EP with their very own unmistakable touch.

RAOUL RECORDS is very happy to welcome LIVIU GROZA for the fourth release of the label. After his China Charm EP on Cityfox just before this summer, he is back with 3 tracks that fit perfectly with the sound of the label.

Unsurprisingly, LIVIUS’s tracks are still about house and techno, but his personal touch gets you beyond your expectations, for the pleasure of your ears.

There is an authentic energy in Liviu’s work, as the A-side track NO LOVE exemplifies perfectly: What starts with a typical filtered techno loop is suddenly brought to another level with a thorough melodic bass line followed by two chords that enhance the track with a certain melancholy.

The B-side starts with another killer bass line. THE MANIMAL’s bass line is a snake that wraps itself around every other element: a great house groove and an hypnotic piano.Liviu is a snake charmer!

The third track MEAN FINE is the perfect B2 track. What sounds rather quiet and reduced when you first listen to it, turns itself into an efficient old school dj tool with groovy hats and hypnotic vocals, especially when played on a proper sound system! You’ll play it for sure…

CITYFOX is very happy to present a new name on its artist roster – LIVIU GROZA. He has been producing music for years already, but now he has come to develop a new sound that fits CITYFOX’s style perfectly. The release features a psychedelic deepness with extremely dynamic grooves, warm bassline, emotional and euphoric synthesizers as well as clever sampling. We could describe this EP further and deeper, but we think you should better find out on your own. These tunes are made to be listened to wherever and whenever you want to feel good.

For this 3rd release, RAOUL RECORDS brings us some very personal stuff from no other than the label’s founder himself: GREGORYTHME. Two long tunes in which he shows us that there are no limits as to how far he can go with hypnotic synthesizers and reduced rhythms.

The A-side “Brainstorming” features very rich house tunes with a mental twist. It’s a track with a big, edgy potential on the dance floor. One part old school, one part avant-garde – this recipe is sure to create confusion on the dance floor and make a little storm in house music lovers’ brains.

The B-side is almost a love song! A hypnotic and melodic tune; Gregorythme’s Juno does its best to give you the shivers. The track is called “Some more” and that is precisely what you will be asking for after you have heard the song… Who said 10 minutes were long enough?

Suffice it to say: We did try. Nicely, of course. On the other hand, sometimes the best things come out of complication. After Nice Try Records couldn’t get a hold of the rights from a certain major label, the cover version of a certain classic was dropped and rendered into the buzzing affair that is “Wild at Heart”. Take a guess. You’re guessing right, here comes St Plomb. An artist we welcome with arms wide open at the Nice Try Records headquarters in Zurich.

It’s the 6th release of our proud stable. And for the first time, Mr. St Plomb is gracing us with a hitherto uncharted talent – his darkly timbred voice. Yes, Mr. St Plomb makes everything groovy! The title track “Wild at Heart” is a banger. A banger with a sexy smile. Full-blown organs. Irresistibly funky steel-drums. And a little cosmic-ambient flirtation. Dig a little deeper with house maestro Agnes’ Favela Funk Mixx, and get carried away in a dubby maelstrom that could turn any afterhour-celebration upsidedown. Straight-up dancefloor fodder is St Plomb’s chord-ridden B-side offering “Life’s Here (Ain’t We Lucky?)”. A funky bass for a loving race? Chicago, here we come!

“St Plomb is a cheeky bastard” wrote music scribe Philip Sherburne. Clearly, he was referring to the versatility of St Plomb’s craft. No rules, no kitchen books, but an addiction to the groove. St. Plomb started as a funk-rock drummer, before exchanging his sticks for a pair of turntables and a sampler. Breast fed with free jazz, funk, african music, reaggae and gospel, the sound of St Plomb is constantly aiming at recreating the eternal disco utopia : liberty, sonic quality, uncompromised selection and free love for all…
