Benja / Reto Ardour – Raw Smoke / Bonfire – Hive007

After their joint venture “SWEET PEACE”, that turned out to be the No. 1 charted track on the 5 Years Hive Compilation, our two up and coming HIVE AUDIO artists now split their powers for a smashing maxi single.

One track each by BENJA and RETO ARDOUR that, of course, make a perfect match as every project those two Swiss young guns work on. BENJA’s “RAW SMOKE” is a reduced groove tool that convinces with a flippy bassline, raw chords and razor sharp Hi-Hats. “BONFIRE” by RETO ARDOUR comes around the corner with a smacking House groove, playful chords and spooky vocal effects.

The remixes are delivered by MATTHIAS MEYER and CHRIS WOOD, each goldplating this EP with their very own unmistakable touch.

Bassbüro a.k.a. Thomas Ingold and his partner Björn Müller are long-year resident DJ´s and promoters at Hive Club in Zurich and come around the corner with a smooth debut on Hive Audio.

The title could not be any more designative, as with “This Is Not House Music” we have a knotless and outstanding 90´s number with lots of pathos and – declaredly – they´ve looked over the shoulders of some big protagonists from France. When the vocoder chords are crossing swords with this insane bassline, every raver´s heart beats at least one octave higher. This is the tune for a perfect sunrise and big feelings on the floor.

On the flip we have Gruber & Nürnberg, some good pals of Bassbüro that played in Hive several times as well – they contribute a complete antipole to the the original. Almost a bit trancey, they spin the chords over a straight Old School House groove, never let the basic spirit of the original out of sight and though don´t forget to leave their very own traces on this remix.

In addition we have a digital exclusive bonus track, that certainly does not deserve the rating “House Music” – let´s call it rather fidget than deep. But be sure, “It´s All Gone” will blow your mind.

Andrea Oliva’s tracks “9 Seconds With Jazz” and “Arosa” have been played and charted by the worldwide DJ community. His track “Rainers” will even appear on the 10 Years Cocoon Ibiza Compilation mixed by Dubfire and Loco Dice.

Hive Audio is happy to present Andrea’s next strike, which will easily tie in with his recent successful releases. Oriented View unloads to a pure old-school tempest, ready to provide vast euphoria and happy faces.

The Hamburg based duo Piemont has been involved for the remix. They are well known for their smashing hit releases and remixes on labels such as MBF and Suchtreflex.

As a bonus there will be a digital only track named “Halperke”!

Animal Trainer – Jungle Fever – Hive002

After the successful label kick-off, Hive Audio 002 is waiting to give 2010 a perfect start.

This time the label founders themselves deliver a track called “Jungle Fever”. It is a weird, percussive and trippy number, holding lots of surprises for guaranteed dancefloor madness. Animal Trainer are Hive Club resident DJ´s of the first hour and their “Raketen” parties enjoy great reputation far beyond the swiss border.

Lexy is also a regular guest to these parties, therefore it was obvious to have the first Animal Trainer output on Hive Audio remixed by this jack-of-all-trades from Berlin. Lexy first draws the essence out of the track and turns it into a real peaktime monster without losing the basic idea, he builds all the samples, sounds and subtleties to a groove rocket that will most certainly force all hands to move so we can see them.

HIVE AUDIO is here – a brand new label, run by the makers of the infamous Hive Club, located in the industrial quarter of Zurich.

Zurich is not only party capital of beautiful Switzerland, it is more and more becoming a habitat for talented and creative music producers and DJ´s, who will now get a new international platform. Releases will be held mainly by residents of the Hive Club itself – Benja will be given the honour to start off with his track Paradose.

Paradose impresses with a funky percussion loop, ultra-brief chords and scantily applied vocal snippets. Benja keeps it dust-dry, leaving out every kind of frippery and lifting the track to a real floor filler without any razzmatazz needed.

On the flip we have a remix by Christian Burkhardt, who needs no further introduction. He turns the number into a real Techno loop monster, which will catch you within a few beats, and then won´t let loose again. Hypnotic and twinkle-toed at the same time, his remix easily will suit any after hour or peaktime set to the same degree. Christian Burkhardt himself is also one of our favourite guests in the club. This is why, of course, we are double happy to welcome a Hive Club resident on our Hive Audio 001.
