following closely on the heels of a stunning debut release, the berlin mitte / lausanne based avant-garde label minimood now gets together with tokyo’s notorious minimalist so ingawa and paris’ rising underground revelation seuil for this second outstanding minimood release: the meiba ep.

back with a strong number 02! gs remains true to itself and unites old friends: laurent bovey (laps, digitaline), grégory poncet (gregorythme, digitaline) and georg bleikolm (knor) all spent their wild youth in lausanne. music always pushed them forward and now their ways crossed again in zurich. together they share a record.

with “hum-hum” digitaline totally groove off! it’s a storm of effects for the dancefloor!

as drummer of the electronica-rock-band rizzoknor knor dove into the nightlife of zurich and collected valuable experience as musician in the club and party context. “roc(k)amboulesque” is his minimal held debut. frisky and musically it goes into the center where for one instant the time stands still. c’est super!

peter introduces himself like this: “i’ve started making music with an oric-1 home computer in the middle of the 80ties, later the commodore amiga was the flagship and then….the casio fz1 and now i use the galaxy of software and the korg mx1, roland tr727, roland jx8p, korg ms20, yamaha tg33, yamaha dx7”.

this makes things clear: peter is one of these producers that use older analogue machines along more recent software gears. and you can hear this in his productions. it sounds huge, powerful while style wise keeping things on to the soul filled part of the dance floor.

peter delights us here with two stunning tracks that contain modern beat structures echoing rather old-school house patterns and hooks. as always, with peter’s incredible music, originality and surprises are 100% at the rendezvous.

minz strikes back with three brand new massive tracks. his second release for the label, “jaded ep” is full of warm, analogue sounding grooves that slowly build. check the huge rollin’ bass line and a clever housy breakbeat. chaton from plak records delivers a crazy re-edit of the smashing track “chinese drip”.

the latest num release sees a collaboration between the swiss-based artists lad & dave the hustler. lad cut his teeth playing with the popular swiss grind core band nostromo, while simultaneously pursuing his love of house and techno. dave the hustler is a prolific producer and remix artist, having worked with felix da housecat, kate wax, ladytron, iggy pop and even ozzy osbourne, while also establishing his own label, paparazzi. the remix on the flip side comes from quenum!

halland is a collaborative project between stockholm’s elias landberg (ad-limited, soniculture) and martin skogenhall (mezzotinto, kritical audio).

their first release together gathers the best ingredients of their solo work to make an entirely different cake, producing lively and deep electronic techno. brimming with hooks and invention, this masterful work pays fitting homage to the notoriously dextrous ginger lynn (don’t google it at work).
