there is a new label!
during two years the cellar of grubenstrasse 28, a mazelike basement, housed once a month a small circle of some 300 music lovers. what they found there was a matchless enthusiastic atmosphere, thanks to a truly devoted crew who placed the emphasis on hospitality and had a keen sense for the selection of superb musicians. unfortunately grubenstrasse was closed down due to complaints from the neighbouring residents. and so this last gem in zurich’s alternative party scene was lost.
but the thought lives on and the memories can’t ever be erased! the friendships that were formed at grubenstrasse outlived the party times – and they are the base for the new label gs zürich. its concept: only acts who played at the grubenstrasse basement release on gs zürich. some nostalgia will always be playing along…
